CORROSION PROPERTIES

These are resistant to suburban, sea-side and industrial atmosphere (however if there is sulfur in the medium, they get blackened and then greenish). They are resistant to dry gasses, fresh water and sea water, pure steam, various soils, non-oxidizing acids, many organic acids, alkali solutions (excluding ammonia compounds and cyanide), salt solutions such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium phosphate and nitrates, many food products, etc. Ones which have some silver in them are better. Coppers are affected from oxidizing acids, salts, humid ammonium and halogen gasses, sulfides, liquid tin, zinc, antimony, bismuth and lead, high current sea water.
